I'll bet you could use some tips on selling your house.
Because the last thing you want when attempting to sell is for word to get out that it does not show well.
Besides as is said you only get one chance to make a good first impression.
Fail to do so and some prospective buyers might not even get out of their Realtor's car.
Shouting "Next" faster than you ever thought possible.
To insure that doesn't happen how about some ideas you could easily convert into a checklist.
Just to make sure your house is ready for prime time.
So make sure you're paying attention to these tips on selling your house.
Some you may not have seen before.
Sweep the street next to the curb in front of your house.
Getting rid of all litter, leaves, grass clippings and weeds that have taken root.
Or anything else that might suggest even the slightest hint of neglect.
Remove weeds growing in the spacers of the front walk.
And edge all side walks to give the place a nice crisp look.
If paint won't do it buy a new mail box.
Those shiny brass ones always catch my eye.
And if the porch light doesn't respond to removing the dead bugs out of the globe you might look into a shiny new one of those too.
Oil the hinges on the storm door.
No creak is a good creak when the front door is opened.
Here's a bulletin: If you have a dog make sure the yard is free of any presents left by them.
Might be one of the more important tips on selling your house since you don't want anyone stepping in fresh doo-doo.
A fresh coat of paint the fence and some lithium on the hinges of the front gate is a good idea too.
Once you decide to sell dig out the spreader, pick up some nitrogen fertilizer and green up the yard.
Water frequently so it looks nice and green.
And put some weed killer too so what's green is actually grass.
Trim the hedges, cut the dead branches out of the trees and maybe put down some fresh mulch around the base of trees as well.
Depending on when you're selling, get in some flowering annuals out front.
Ones that can put on an inviting colorful display all their own.
Window boxes crammed with flowers are another good idea.
All fishing boats and RVs should be moved to a long term storage lot.
Remove any unsightly stains from your deck.
Seal it.
Same goes for any ugly oil stains on the garage floor.
If need be use dry cement to pull out the stain like magic.
Put a fresh coat of driveway sealant on your asphalt driveway.
And if buyers are scheduled, park your vehicles down the street.
so your drive is clearly visible.
Paint the siding if appropriate.
Replace any siding that's cracked, dented, or marred in any way.
Same for the gutters and downspouts.
And hose down the shutters.
You want the exterior of the house to telegraph it has been well maintained.
Clean the windows thoroughly.
Replace any broken glass.
